Wei-Lung Liao, Chief Technology Officer of AUO Corporation, has been recognized with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Gold Panel Awards for his long-standing contributions to advanced display technologies and the development of Taiwan’s display industry.
With more than two decades of experience in the display sector, Wei-Lung leads AUO’s advanced display R&D and technology commercialization efforts. He has driven the development and deployment of next-generation technologies such as Micro LED and Beyond-Display applications, expanding their adoption across diverse domains including smart mobility, healthcare, retail, and other vertical applications. Through the advancement of high-value, low-carbon display solutions—such as transparent displays and innovative visual interfaces—Wei-Lung continues to strengthen AUO’s technology portfolio across Display, Mobility Solutions, and Vertical Solutions.

In parallel with his role at AUO, Wei-Lung is deeply involved in industry collaboration. He currently serves as Chairman of the Taiwan Panel & Solution Association (TPSA) and Vice Chairman of the Taiwan Display Union Association (TDUA), where he works to align policy resources, promote cross-domain applications, support low-carbon and digital transformation, and strengthen ecosystem collaboration. He has also played a key role in strengthening international engagement, advancing technical coordination across the industry, fostering talent development, and enhancing the global visibility of Taiwan’s smart display ecosystem.
Looking ahead, Wei-Lung will continue to drive next‑generation display innovation and cross-domain integration, working with partners to scale real-world adoption and strengthen Taiwan’s global competitiveness in smart displays.
